Isaac Keller · Darkbyte
Hey, I’m Isaac 👋
Self-taught developer, designer, and lifelong tinkerer who turns bold ideas into code, pixels, and occasionally printed parts. My happy place is the intersection of playful experiences and clever engineering—from game engines to glow-in-the-dark resin prints.
How I Can Help
Game Development
Gameplay systems, tooling, and custom overlays built with Unity, Win32, or raw C++.
Graphic & 3D Design
Logos, UI, pixel art, and FDM / resin-ready 3D models crafted in Fusion 360.
Full-Stack Web Apps
Astro & Tailwind front-ends, Flask or FastAPI back-ends, deployed on AWS / Azure.
Embedded IoT
ESP32 sensors, MicroPython firmware, and realtime cloud dashboards.
Technical Consulting
Architecture reviews, pipeline advice, and hands-on mentoring sessions.
Tools & Software
Photoshop, Illustrator, VS Code, Sublime, Notepad++, WHMCS, cPanel, and Pterodactyl. Comfortable across full dev, design, and server toolchains.
How I Got Here
My technical journey began at a DOS prompt on decommissioned office PCs my father brought home. In the late 1990s, a local LAN-café and repair-shop owner became an informal mentor, teaching me hardware diagnostics and custom builds after school. For my fifteenth birthday, he set me up with a shared-hosting account, and I spent that summer publishing clan-site templates for the clantemplates.com community—my first taste of contributing to something bigger than myself.
Over time, that curiosity about how websites worked evolved into building my own from scratch. I moved from editing templates in Dreamweaver to experimenting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript through online tutorials and independent study. I was always learning—through forums, videos, courses, and sheer trial and error.
Eventually, I dove into real-time 3D—experimenting with different engines, but ultimately found my footing in Unity and C#. I spent years building prototypes and small games before hitting a creative wall with Unity while developing a desktop pet project. I needed lower-level control to achieve the seamless, transparent overlay behavior I was aiming for. So I shifted gears and learned modern C++ and the Win32 API from the ground up.
Whether I’m hacking together a tiny sprite overlay or architecting a full-stack app, I always come back to the same loop: prototype, refine, polish, deliver. That’s how I think—and how I build.
Current Focus
ByteInstyncts (Desktop Pet)
A transparent, click-through companion built with C++/Win32 & GDI+, showcasing low-level desktop overlay techniques.
Darkbyte.Network
This very site—an Astro + Tailwind hub where I document builds, share dev logs, and connect with collaborators.
